A house fire that occurred on Memorial Day in Sigourney is still under investigation. 

According to Sigourney Fire Department officials, emergency personnel responded to a residence located on Highway 149 south of Sigourney on the afternoon of May 26th. Upon their arrival, the house was engulfed in flames, and there were reports of people inside. Once the fire was extinguished, there were two people found in the residence. 

The State Fire Marshal confirmed that there were two casualties, and their identities have not yet been released. They are assisting the Sigourney Fire Department with the ongoing investigation. A cause for the fire has not been released at this time.
