tractorcade-800

This year will be the 26th edition of Waterloo Morning Tribune’s annual Great Eastern Iowa Tractorcade, which will run from June 8-11. They will be making their way to Washington on Monday, June 9th and stopping for lunch at the fairgrounds.

Washington Police Chief Jim Lester reminded the City Council of this on Tuesday evening during their meeting, “I wanted to make you all aware, that next Monday during the day, there will be a tractorcade will be coming into Washington from the south. Spending some time at the fairgrounds, and I think there is six or seven different groups of tractors coming in throughout the day from about 11 a.m. to about 2:30 p.m. We will have groups of tractors coming through town and we will be providing some traffic control as they work their way through town.”

The Tractorcade is expected to bring 300-500 tractors, along with their owner/operators, families, and friends to the area and draw spectators along each day’s routes. Each day’s ride will begin and end at the Old Threshers Reunion grounds in Mt Pleasant. The ride back to Mt Pleasant from Washington will include a route that goes through the towns of Brighton, Germanville, Lockridge, and Rome.
