The boil order in Columbus Junction that was put into effect earlier this week has been rescinded, according to the city’s public works department.
Water samples that were taken from the affected area, which was north of Highway 92 between 2nd Street and the Dairy Sweet near Hilltop Road, came back absent of bacteria and, therefore, safe to drink.
The department also warned that water will need to be shut down on either Monday or Tuesday of next week to cap off the old water main.
