The Lone Tree Lions edged out Holy Trinity Catholic on the softball diamond Monday night with a 5-4 victory. After the game was tied after one inning and Holy Trinity took a 2-1 lead in the third, Lone Tree responded with three runs in the fourth.

The Crusaders would tie the game with a pair of runs in the fifth, but the Lions managed to walk it off in the bottom of the seventh. Sophomore Abby Zaruba scored a pair of runs for Lone Tree and had a double, while Cate Sexton had one run batted in on one base hit.

Fellow senior Sami Branson and sophomore Addison McCullough added one single and one run scored each as the Lions improve to 2-3. Lone Tree will be back in action tomorrow when they travel to take on Highland.
