Iowa Highway 1 will have shoulder closures and short intermittent lane closures in place from Washington to Brighton as road work carried over from 2024 comes to a close.

The closures will be weekdays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. between County Road W21 and Iowa Highway 92 just south of Washington’s city limits. Department of Transportation engineer Christy Van Buskirk says that she expects any remaining closures to be short.

Drivers on Highway 1 should watch for flaggers to signal closures as they occur.
