
The Hillcrest Academy Raven softball team had a tough night at the office Monday, dropping a road Southeast Iowa Superconference contest to the Danville Bears 6-0. Danville climbed up quick with two runs in the first and another in the second, they would add a single run in the fifth and two more in the sixth. The Bears out hit the Ravens 7-4 on the night, Hillcrest had two costly errors. Brynley Wenig was dominant for Danville in the circle, throwing the complete game shut out while piling up 17 strikeouts. Elizabeth Jensen led the Bears at the plate with two hits and two driven in. Malia Yoder had three hits for the Ravens, Claire Withrow added one. Yoder tossed all six frames, allowing seven hits, four earned runs, six walks and four Ks.
Danville is 3-4 after the win, while the Ravens drop to 2-2. Hillcrest visits Columbus Thursday.
