Hillcrest Academy has named an interim principal and Head of School for the 2025-26 school year
The school announced on Thursday that 1996 Hillcrest alum Nate Miller will lead the school for the next year, following the departure of 7-year principal and longtime basketball coach Dwight Gingerich. Gingerich has taken a position at Goshen College in Indiana.
Miller currently works as a math teacher at Hillcrest, where he just completed his third year. He has been teaching for the past 25 years, with previous stops in St. Louis and Cedar Rapids.
Miller completed the Principal Leadership Academy program for licensure in March 2025.
Hillcrest’s search for a permanent replacement for Gingerich, which the school hopes to complete ahead of the 2026-27 school year, is still ongoing.
