Washington County was drought-free for the sixth consecutive week, according to data from the U.S. Drought Monitor.

In addition to Washington, Johnson and Iowa Counties also remained drought free this week.

Louisa County saw drought conditions recede to a small area along the county’s southern border, dropping from 55.27% abnormally dry last week to just less than one percent this week.

Henry, Jefferson and Keokuk Counties all held stable this week, with Henry at 3.82% abnormally dry, Jefferson at 37.61% and Keokuk at 43.59%.

Overall, 9.62% of Iowa is in moderate drought and 46.37% is abnormally dry.
