
The Washington County Fair Association has announced the 2025 Mike Orris Scholarship winner. Charlotte Sieren received the scholarship.
Sieren of Mid-Prairie High School will be attending Lake Land College in Mattoon, Illinois this fall to major in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and be on the Lake Land College livestock judging team. Sieren’s volunteerism includes being a religion teacher at Holy Trinity Parish in Keota, tutoring her peers through the Student Leadership Team, as well as logging over 140 Silver Cord hours during her time at Mid-Prairie High School. She is a nine-year member of the Dutch Creek Flyers 4-H Club, and a four-year member of the Mid-Prairie FFA Chapter and has served as the Reporter and President. Sieren has served on the 4-H County Council for three years.
The Washington County Fair Association gives this $1000 scholarship in honor of Mike Orris. Orris was a volunteer member of the Washington County Fair Association for more than 50 years and passed away in 2019. He firmly believed in the gift of volunteerism and spent countless hours of his time volunteering.
