The Washington Economic Development Group has announced its 2025 Educational grant award winners. 

This year’s recipients are Blake Evans, who attends Kirkwood Community College, Blake Swart and Quinn Callahan both from Mid-Prairie, and Kael Thirtyacre who attends Highland. 

The WEDG Educational Grant program is designed to support Washington County high school seniors who plan to develop skills that will benefit the local workforce and contribute to the county’s economy. Each student receives a $1,500 grant, paid directly to their educational institution to assist with tuition, books, and class or material fees. The grant is open annually to all Washington County high school seniors who plan to attend an accredited Iowa community college or technical school, and intend to return to Washington County for employment after graduation.
