
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls soccer team looks to take the next step on the tournament trail tonight when they travel to Mediapolis for the Class 1A Regional semifinals in a battle with Bullettes. The Hawks are 6-10-3 on the year after outlasting Mount Pleasant in a wild regional quarterfinal game last week 2-1 after 11 penalty kicks. Mid-Prairie has been outscored 36-33 in total this year with 155 shots on goal, 69 corner kicks, 18 assists and an 82% save percentage. Individually, Meadow Flynn leads with 10 goals, Lydia Beachy has four assists and Niva Helmuth has made 135 saves in goal.
Mediapolis is 11-5-1 this year. They bounced Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union 1-0 in the last round. This year the Bullettes have outscored their opponents 49-16 in total with 170 shots on goal, 52 corner kicks, 11 assists and an 86% team save percentage. Individually, Camryn Bailey is the team leader with 22 goals, Amelia Grier has three assists and Ellah Wagenbach has made 93 saves.
Mid-Prairie is 3-2 all-time against MEPO including a 3-1 victory in their last meeting in 2021. Action starts tonight at 7p.m. At Archer Field in Mediapolis.
