With local high school graduations coming to a close, as well as universities, KCII News asked U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley what words of advice or acknowledgment he had for the seniors. Senator Grassley shared, “Get as much education as you can. It will do you more good than anything else that you could do.” 

According to the Iowa Department of Education, Iowa’s high school graduation rate climbed to 88.3% for the class of 2024. This marks the first time since 2020 that Iowa’s graduation rate has returned to prepandemic levels. A total of 34,158 Iowa students earned their high school diplomas in the class of 2024.
