
A house fire killed two people in Sigourney on Monday afternoon.
According to Sigourney Fire Department officials, emergency personnel responded to a residence located on Highway 149 south of Sigourney. Upon their arrival, the house was engulfed in flames, and there were reports that there were people inside. Once the fire was extinguished, there were two people found in the residence.
The State Fire Marshal confirmed that there were two casualties, and their identities have not yet been released. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
Responding to the scene were crews from the Sigourney Fire Department, Keota Fire Department, Delta Fire Department, and Hedrick Fire Department.
