First pitch of a new season of Keota Eagles softball is on the horizon. Keota had a 2-15 record last year but will have most of the roster back, including their leading hitters in junior Kennedy Jackson and freshman Elyse Lyle.
Jackson is also the Eagles’ top pitcher from last summer, but some new faces will be handling more of the pitching duties. New head coach Shawn Haifley tells KCII Sports that what can put his team over the top this season is their effort.
” [I admire] just the amount of work they put in and the way they show up to work,” Haifley says. “They just have a business-like attitude [about] them, and I really see things coming together so far.”
Keota will open the 2025 softball season Tuesday against North Mahaska.
