The No. 12 Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls golf team finished the 2025 season Wednesday in West Liberty at the Class 2A Regional Final tournament. The Golden Hawks were looking to extend their streak of consecutive team state tournament bids to a new school record four, but they finished fourth in the five team field with their score of 394. Advancing to state were team champs No. 5 Sumner-Fredericksburg with a 344, and runners-up Jesup with a 373. Tipton was third at 380 and West Branch fifth with a 427.

Top score for Mid-Prairie was Olivia Swartzentruber eighth with a 91 for 18 holes, she missed qualifying for state by two shots. Three-time defending state champ Chloe Bolte of Sumner-Fredericksburg was the individual winner with a 70. Other Golden Hawk rounds included Addison English 96, Morgyn Bender 102, Delani Blum 105, Lily Miller 109 and Paiton Chittick 128. After the meet, Golden Hawk head coach Tracy McArtor talked about the day, the year and his seniors.

McArtor said, “We ran into a buzzsaw this week with this region. Having the highly ranked teams here that we do, and the No. 1 ranked individual in the state, for us to shoot 394, the kids held their own. They fought and did everything they could! I’m really proud of how they did. Addison (English) and Lily (Miller) our seniors this year really meant a lot. To go to state three years-in-a-row, to be good leaders on this team, that’s what we look for and what we want in the future. When you post 40 wins, especially in our conference with all the talent that’s out there, that’s just unheard of. 180 to 200 wins over their four years, it’s really phenomenal!”

Mid-Prairie wraps up the season with a 46-8 overall record, and says goodbye to seniors Lily Miller and Addison English.
