Last weekend members of the Golden Hawk high school and middle school archery clubs at Mid-Prairie traveled to Louisville, Kentucky for the National Archery in the Schools Program Eastern National Tournament.

Top finish for the program came from the high school Hawks in 3D with a team score of 1685, to finish 22nd of 162 schools. Hartland High School from Michigan won the National Championship with 1734. Top performance of the weekend for the Hawks came from Johnathan Pickard finishing top 10 in the country at 9th with a 294 that included 24 tens. Other Mid-Prairie boys that placed included Landon Kuenster 49th, Elijah Statler 201st, Nickolas Kelley 654th, Eli Conrad 701st and Jacob Debler 734th. For the Golden Hawk girls it was Sophia Puttmann leading the way in 39th with 285 and 20 tens. Other Golden Hawk girls finishers included Ava Miller 337th, Allie Whetstine 357th, Averi Janecek 457th, Madelyn Sieren 490th, Lael Seale 500th, Emma Poock 658th, Morgyn Nafziger 676th, Harlee West 825th and Kyla Karnes 1021st.

In block, the high school Hawks were 43rd of 265 teams with a score of 3338. Champaign Central from Illinois were National Champions with a 3459. Landon Kuenster had the top high school tournament with a 293 and 23 tens for 28th place. Other boys rounds included Johnathon Pickard 73rd, Elijah Statler 245th, Eli Conrad 823rd, Jacob Debler 1708th and Nickolas Kelley 1805th. For the girls Averi Janecek led the way with a 286 that included 18 tens for 96th. She was followed by Lael Seale 269th, Harlee West 353rd, Ava Miller 445th, Sophia Puttmann 687th, Madelyn Sieren 905th, Morgyn Nafziger 1106th, Kyla Karnes 1373rd, Allie Whetstine 1453rd and Emma Poock 1989th.

In middle school competition the Golden Hawks were 100th of 252 schools in block with a 3169 team score. Harrison County, Kentucky won the title with a 3373. Noah Colbentz was 10th overall for the boys with a 290 that included 20 10s. Other boys scores finishes were Joshua Seale 240th, Preston Ford 313th, Nolan Mohling 626th, Landon Allen 694th, Braxton Ropp 768th, Declan Brady 975th, Mason Schneider 1188th, Beckett Miller 1256th and Easton Gorsch 1421st. For the girls, Makenzie O’Brien was the leader with 261, including eight tens for 936th place. Following her were Beniah Fulton 1097th, Kylee Berry 1404th, Ruby Regenwether 1617th, Mya Brenneman 1911th, Brooklyn Liska 2000th and Lara Brenneman 2241st.
