
As the weather heats up and schools prepare to release students for the summer, several towns in the area are opening their pools and splashpads for the season.
The new Vista Park splashpad in Kalona is already attracting visitors and it is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The City of Wellman’s splashpad will also be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will open Friday, May 23.
Wayland’s splash pad will be open for the season beginning on Memorial Day and will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Washington Steele Family Outdoor Aquatic Center will open on Tuesday, May 27.The Kalona City Pool will open on Friday, May 30. Both pools are fully open from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, with the noon to 1 p.m. hour open exclusively for adult/lap swimming or water walking.
