The Mid-Prairie School Board approved fee increases for the 2025-26 school year at its Monday meeting.
Meal prices increased across the board. For students, changes were as follows: single lunch prices: $3.25 to $3.35, single-day breakfast prices: $2 to $2.15, twenty-day lunch prices: $65 to $67, and twenty-day breakfast prices: $40 to $43.
For adults, changes were as follows: single lunch prices: $4.85 to $5, single-day breakfast prices: $3.45 to $3.70, twenty-day lunch prices: $97 to $100, and twenty-day breakfast prices: $69 to $74.
Mid-Prairie Business Manager Jeff Swartzentruber said that the district lost over $80,000 in cash within the lunch program this year and that these increases were to address this shortfall. He also noted, though, that the only area district with higher fees than Mid-Prairie was Highland.
The fee changes were passed unanimously.
