The Washington Demons will be advancing in the high school boys’ golf postseason after hosting a Class 3A sectional tournament yesterday at Washington Golf & Country Club. The Demons were second as a team with a score of 316 strokes, just seven more than the winners from Solon.

Rajan Roth would lead the way for Washington with a team-best, four-over-par round of 74 that was good for third on the individual leaderboard. Fellow juniors Drew Conrad and Carson Brown each shot an eight-over 78 to finish tied for sixth overall, while senior Conner Leyden just missed out on the top 20 with an 86.

Senior Cole Vetter and sophomore Kaleb Orr added rounds of 89 and 91, respectively, to help the Demons advance from sectionals for a fourth straight season. Washington will try to qualify for the state tournament for the third time in the last four years when they compete in a Class 3A district tournament Monday in Manchester.
