The Mid-Prairie School Board passed the cell phone ban it has been considering for the past several meetings Monday night.
The policy change bans the use of cell phones throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom, a change from the current policy and the new state standard which only restricts use during instructional time.
The board indicated that it would continue to monitor the issue, suggesting that further changes to the policy were possible. The policy change passed unanimously as originally presented and will go into effect next school year.
