The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle pursuit on Friday in Washington. 

According to a report from dispatch, the Iowa State Patrol requested assistance at around 2 p.m. with a pursuit headed towards Washington County from Salina Road in Jefferson County. The pursuit ended in the Washington Walmart parking lot at 2:30 p.m. where 23-year-old German Ramirez Jr. of Washington was arrested by the Iowa State Patrol.  

Ramirez was charged with operating while intoxicated, first offense, eluding, and speeding 25 mph over the speed limit. A court date has been set for June 6th.
