The Columbus/Winfield-Mount Union girls’ soccer team continued its winning ways of late last night by defeating Wapello 5-1. The Wildcats would build a 3-0 lead by halftime and never look back, winning their fifth of the last six matches.

Senior Frannie Sosa and sophomore Iris Garza led Columbus/WMU by each scoring two goals and dishing out an assist. Sophomore Rozlynn Garza had the other goal and also had an assist for the Wildcats, who finish Southeast Iowa Super Conference play with a record of 2-2 and improve to 5-6 overall.
