The Mid-Prairie High School Theatre Department will participate in the 2025 Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards Showcase in Des Moines later this month. 

Mid-Prairie was selected for the showcase for its production of Matilda in November, and will be recognized for the the following awards at the showcase: Special Recognitions in a Principal Role: Jeremiah Rempel as “Trunchbull,” Special Recognition in a Principal Role: Logan McClellen as “Mr. Wormwood,” and Distinguished Scene – “Revolting Children.”

Rempel and McClellen will represent Mid-Prairie in a medley performance led by a guest Broadway music director and choreographer, and River Gehling  will perform an excerpt from Matilda, reprising her role as Miss Honey.

The showcase will be held at the Des Moines Civic Center on Thursday, May 29 at 7 p.m.
