
The Washington Demons suffered losses to Fort Madison on the soccer pitch to end last week. The Washington girls found themselves down 7-0 at halftime Thursday at Fort Madison, and while Maya Murphy would score for the Demons in the second half after an assist from fellow senior Angeline Anderson, they would end up falling 9-1.
Washington would keep things close all the way to the end in the rematch the following night, but Fort Madison would get the lone goal of the match in the second half Friday at Washington Wellness Park. The defeats drop the Demons to 3-6 in the Southeast Conference and 6-7 overall.
The Washington boys would be down by four goals at halftime and would lose 5-1 to Fort Madison. The Demons end conference play at 1-7 and have their overall record fall to 2-12.
