Those who educate and care for children are recognized this week. This week is Teacher Appreciation Week and the National Education Association is encouraging supporters to turn appreciation into action. 

Groups in the area have been thanking teachers throughout the week for their important work. For example, at Stewart Elementary School the Stewart Boosters and parents have provided meals, snacks, and treats. At Washington Middle School, staff and students have been encouraged to take part in special dress up days like #WashPride Day on Friday with Demon colors and gear. 

In addition, Friday is Provider Appreciation Day, recognizing those who provide childcare. Annually the day is observed on the Friday before Mother’s Day.
