Iowa’s legislators are continuing to meet in Des Moines, while the per diem for the session ended last Friday, May 2nd. The 110th day of the 91st General Assembly was on Friday, which marks the unofficial last day of the session. According to the Iowa League of Cities, the Governor’s office and the Senate agreed to a $9.417 billion budget for the fiscal year, while the House announced a budget target of $9.453 billion. 

In addition, the League outlines that 12 Senate Republicans have stated they want certain issues including an eminent domain bill brought to the floor before they will vote on a budget bill.

The legislative session will continue until the budget is passed.
