
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys golf team travels to Muscatine today for the River Valley Conference Championship meet. The Hawks are 28-15 entering play following a dual loss at West Liberty Monday. This year, Mid-Prairie has a team average of 169 on nine holes and 336 on 18, led individually by Denver Nelson and Clayton Davidson each at 42 on nine and Bryce Henry at 85 on 18. The Golden Hawks finished eighth of 15 teams at this event a year ago with a team score of 356 on 18 holes, led by Grayson Gingerich’s 85 to earn honorable mention All-Conference honors. Dyersville-Beckman is the defending champion after a 314. The Blazers Luke Harwick won the individual title with a 72.
Mid-Prairie will be joined today by Cascade, Anamosa, Beckman, Bellevue, Camanche, Durant, Maquoketa, Monticello, Northeast Goose Lake, Iowa City Regina, Tipton, West Branch, West Liberty and Wilton. Action starts at 10a.m. And continues all day at the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course.
