The Hillcrest Academy Raven boys soccer team made it three straight wins Thursday with a 7-0 shut out victory over Columbus at the Muscatine Soccer Complex. The Ravens put up a pair of goals in the first half and exploded for five more after the break. The Hillcrest offense was humming with 20 total shots, 10 on goal, six corner kicks and six assists. The big day belonged to Mason Bender, as his hat trick led the way for Hillcrest, along with a pair of goals for Seth Ours and one each for Jesse Blossom and Micah Gerber. Mason Helmuth had two assists and Gerber, Isaac Beachy, Ours and Charles Hughes each had one. Raven keeper Kyle Neuschwander made seven saves to secure the clean sheet.
The Ravens are now 6-2-1 after the win as Columbus dips to 3-7. The Wildcats travel to Danville Monday, the Ravens are at Highland Tuesday.
