
A pair of KCII area schools sent their boys and girls golf teams to battle on the links Monday in Winfield, with the home Wolves getting a pair of Southeast Iowa Superconference dual wins over the Hillcrest Academy Ravens. WMU took the boys match 168-180. Justin Knipfer turned in the low card for the Wolves with a 40 to tie for medalist honors with Hillcrest’s Liam Schrock. Cody Milks was meet runner-up with a 42. Other scores for WMU included Nick Sparrow and Grant Anderson 43 each, Konner Kinneberg 46 and Max Edwards 52. Following 40 from Schrock, other Raven scores included Rowan Miller 45, Lawson Schrock 47, Matthew Chalupa 48 and Ethan Yoder 54. WMU is now 15-2 with the win as Hillcrest drops to 10-1.
The Winfield-Mt. Union girls got the dual win with a 232 team score with Ashlyn Bender and Ella Kann tying for medalist honors with their 54 days. Other cards for the Lady Wolves included 57 for Kellee Milks and 67 for Brynn Pogmore. The Ravens did not post a team score, their best round was 55 from Claire Withrow, followed by 76 for Natalie Meganathan and 78 for Izzie Frederick. The WMU girls are 4-9 after the win while the Ravens fall to 0-10.
