The Hillcrest Academy Raven boys soccer team routed the visiting Wapello/Louisa-Muscatine Indians Monday in Kalona 10-0, in a game that did not last the full 80 minutes. Hillcrest sprinted to a 6-0 halftime lead and added four more after break to end the match early. The Ravens outshot the Indians 17-0 and had nine corner kicks while surrendering none. Mason Helmuth recorded his first career hat trick, raising his goals total to a team leading eight this year. Micah Gerber scored his second and third goals of the season. Seth Ours scored his third of the year, Mason Bender his second and Bryce Bailey and Gibson Scott both got in the scoring column for the first time this year. Isaac Beachy led with three assists Ours and Bender had a pair of helpers each and Helmuth and Beckett Slaubaugh had one assist apiece. Kyle Neuschwander made a save to secure the shut out. The Ravens are now 4-2-1 as Wapello drops to 0-9. Hillcrest is back on the pitch at home tonight for Senior Night when they take on Sigourney-Keota. The Ravens will honor eight seniors including Jesse Blossom, Micah Gerber, Seth Ours, Bryce Bailey, Mason Helmuth, Mason Bender, Kyle Neuschwander and Andrew Kauffman.
