
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls soccer teams make the trip to Anamosa tonight for a pair of River Valley Conference matches. The Golden Hawk boys are 1-5-1 this year after a 1-1 draw with West Branch Monday where Peyton Fox had the goal and Mac Yoder made eight saves on defense. This year, the Hawks have been outscored 26-7 with 38 shots on goal, 21 corner kicks, four assists and a 71% team save percentage. Individually, Kale Miller leads with three goals, Fox, Will Snider, Ty Huber and Adrian Sanchez Reyes each have an assist and in goal, Jacob Flynn has 46 saves.
Anamosa is 4-2-1 this year, coming off of a 6-0 win over Bellevue last night. This season the Blue Raiders have outscored their opponents 22-5 with 111 shots on goal, 33 corner kicks, 14 assists and a 92% team save percentage. Individually, Eli Breitbach has scored seven times with six assists to lead in both categories and Coy Braden has 85 saves. Mid-Prairie has won all five meetings between the two schools including 4-1 last year.
The Golden Hawk girls are 3-4-1 on the season after a 3-2 loss against West Branch Monday where Meadow Flynn scored twice, Zoey Curtiss had an assist and Niva Helmuth stopped 17 shots. On the season, the Hawks have scored and given up 19 goals each with 67 shots on goal, 33 corner kicks, nine assists and a 79% team save percentage. Individually, Flynn’s six goals are best, Lydia Beachy and Brooklyn Schneider each have a pair of assists and Helmuth has 53 saves.
Anamosa is 2-3 this year. The Blue Raiders dropped a 4-1 match to Bellevue last night. This year, they have been outscored 15-14 in total with 39 shots on goal, 17 corner kicks, six assists and an 85% team save percentage. Individually, Norah Humpal leads with five goals and three assists and Leah Whitson has 66 saves in goal. Anamosa has won three straight in the series including 3-1 and 2-1 victories last season.
