The City of Kalona will hold a public hearing on its budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year at the beginning of its city council meeting on Monday.
The budget anticipates increases in both revenues and expenditures next year. The largest revenue increase comes from an additional $300,000 in anticipated fee collection, while the biggest cost increases are set to be public safety and business expenses.
The tax levy, adopted by the city council at its last meeting, is set to be $10.36973, a less-than-one cent increase from last year.
The Public hearing is scheduled to begin at the Kalona Community Center at 7 p.m.
