
Another victory for Ayden Galindo highlighted the Keota Eagle track and field team’s performance Thursday at the Horton Co-Ed Relays at Pekin. The junior was the champion in the high jump by clearing an even six feet.
Galindo also leaped over 19 feet to finish third in the long jump, while the Keota boys’ distance medley relay finished third as well. The Eagles would take second place in the girls’ sprint medley.
The Sigourney Savages also competed Thursday at the Rocket Relays in Eddyville. Ellie Yates was a winner for the Sigourney girls in the 3,000 meters with a time of 11 minutes 27 seconds, with fellow junior Addison Yates finishing third in that same race.
McKinley Chittick also won bronze in the high jump, as did fellow senior Josephine Moore in the discus, while the Savages would finish third in the 4-by-200 and 4-by-400-meters.
