A demonstration will be happening in Washington this weekend after a split vote by the Washington City Council on Tuesday. The Indivisible Washington’s “Hands Off” Protest is described as a “peaceful protest against current events.”

At their regular meeting Tuesday night, the city council voted 3-2 to approve the event request contingent on event insurance. Those voting nay were Fran Stigers and Pat Morgan. Councilor Elaine Moore was absent.

According to the City of Washington, due to lack of insurance secured, the event will not be held.
