The Highland School Board appointed a new member at its meeting Monday night. Dennis Wendt will be the new board member representing district two. The seat opened when previous board member John O’Leary moved out of the district.
Wendt was interviewed by the board at the meeting, where he said he chose to run because he believes in the importance of public education and said that “some things politically are making it seem less important.”
Wendt was unanimously approved and is expected to be sworn in by Highland Superintendent Ken Crawford today.
