The Highland Community School District School Board is set to hold a public hearing tonight on its budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
The proposed budget has a slight increase in expenditures across the board, which will be offset by the use of existing funds.
Instructional expenditures and support expenditures, such as transportation and administrative costs, are set to increase by just over 1%, while other expenditures such as facilities acquisition and debt service are expected to drop by around 7%.
The proposed property tax rate of $12.93 is a two-cent decrease from the current 2024-25 year.
The hearing will open the meeting and is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. in the Highland Board Room.
