
Two KCII area schools end the week on the course when the Hillcrest Academy Ravens host the WACO Warriors in boys and girls dual golf action Friday in Kalona. The Hillcrest boys are 2-0 this season after wins over Wapello and Columbus. They knocked off the Indians last time out 170-192 behind matching 36s from Rowan Miller and Liam Schrock. Hillcrest’s team average is 171 per nine and they are led by Miller’s 37 individually. WACO is 0-1 this year, dropping a tight 221-225 dual to Lone Tree Thursday, despite a medalist round 49 from Malachi Rinner. The Ravens won this match last year 213-226 with Liam Schrock winning medalist with a 40.
The Hillcrest girls are 0-2 after losses to Wapello and Columbus. The Ravens have a 258 team average this year, with Ava Miller’s 60 leading the way. WACO is 1-0 this year after a Thursday win over Lone Tree where the Warriors shot 268 led by medalist Morgan Meyer’s 57 and medalist runner-up Shanae Riley’s 66. The Ravens won this dual a year ago 277-303, led by medalist Claire Withrow’s 58.
