The curtain will raise and the spotlight will shine on the Mid-Prairie High School stage this weekend for the drama department’s presentation of Deadline. Cast members River Gehling, Niah Leaton, Jimmy Rempel, and Caroline Schrader spoke with KCII News about plot points for the show, time spent rehearsing and what they are looking forward to most, “There are eight mystery writers, we all come to what we believe is a writing retreat, just a relaxing weekend to write our book and then we find out we actually have to kill someone or solve a murder in order to get the book deal. It goes through the process of, are we going to kill each other? Are we not? Then when someone does end up dead, how we figure that out. This entire challenge is set up in the will of a writer in this universe. We started mid to late February, working individual scenes up to full acts. Now we’re doing the whole thing as much as we can. We know it’s going to be an amazing show and we’re so excited to present each show to the community because our community is so amazing!”
The cast will take the stage Friday and Saturday night at 7p.m. And host a matinee Sunday at 2p.m. To purchase tickets visit mpdrama.booktix.com or click on the link with this story at KCIIradio.com.
