The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls soccer team scored their second straight road win, putting together a 4-1 victory over Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union at the Muscatine Soccer Complex Thursday. The Hawks led 2-1 at half, and posted a pair of insurance goals after intermission to seal the win. Mid-Prairie turned to their defense for their offense, with senior defender Kyla Karnes recording a hat trick to key the Hawks in the win. Golden Hawk Meadow Flynn had the other goal, her third of the season. Sophomore Janelle Jimenez had the Wildcats goal, her first of the year. Ruth Witthoft got the win in goal for Mid-Prairie making three saves, while Yaileen Miranda stopped six shots for the Wildcats. The Golden Hawks stand at 2-2-1 on the year, after ending the week with back-to-back wins, as Columbus falls to 0-4.
