After their first loss of the season Monday, the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys golf team bounced back in a big way Tuesday, downing Louisa-Muscatine in a non-conference dual at the Kalona Golf Course. The Hawks were winners by a 162-208 final count. Every Golden Hawk varsity round was better than the best from the Falcons. Mid-Prairie swept the medals with Denver Nelson taking top honors on the day with a one-over-par 37. He spoke after the meet about the night, “For me it’s about staying ready. It’s a lot more fun to play when it’s good conditions. Go out and shoot the best you can. (Tonight), I made quite a few putts. I never put myself in trouble, so I was always able to make it happen. I birdied hole one so that set the tone for the rest of the round. We all played solid, everyone did their part, and hopefully we can keep grinding for the rest of the season.”

Other Golden Hawk cards included Grayson Gingerich 39, Ace Peck, Hudson Ehrenfelt and Bryce Henry with 43s and Clayton Davidson 45. The Golden Hawks are now 2-1 on the year and travel to Tipton Monday.
