
Former Louisa County Sheriff Curtis “Tiny” Scott Braby passed away Thursday at the age of 66. Braby was born in Mount Ayr, Iowa, where he was a state champion wrestler before attending the University of Northern Iowa. Following graduation, he served Louisa County for 30 years, 20 as a Sheriff’s Deputy and the final 10 as Sheriff from 2000-2010. Braby was also president of the Iowa State Sheriff’s and Deputies Association.
A memorial has been established for the Louisa County Sheriff Office-Reserves. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Dahl-Van-Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be prior to the service at 10 a.m., with burial at the Fairview Cemetery in Cedar Falls.
