The WACO Warriors are giving golf another go after starting the program up last season. While most of the boys’ team has since graduated, sophomore Malachi Rinner returns after leading the team in scoring with a cumulative adjusted average of just over 57 strokes and going as low as a 13-over-par 49 on a nine-hole course.

Meanwhile, WACO will have most of its varsity girls’ roster back from 2024, including low scorer junior Morgan Meyer. Warriors head coach Logan Moeller tells KCII Sports that his players are better prepared for what’s ahead after last spring.

“It’s one thing to just go out and golf,” Moeller says, “but then to have a year of competitive golf under your belt, it is definitely a big advantage for everyone that’s coming back.”

Both WACO golf teams play in a quadrangular at New London tomorrow to get the new season started.
