A new season of Columbus/Winfield-Mount Union girls’ soccer will be starting this coming week. The Wildcats won three games for a second straight season last spring but are still looking for their first winning year since 2021.

Columbus/WMU will have to replace graduate Lecet Quiroz, who led the team with seven goals scored in 2024, but starters that are eligible to return include senior Frannie Sosa, who had two goals and an assist last season.

Other players like senior Samarah Garza, junior Naveiah Garza and sophomore Iris Garza will help lead the way for the Wildcats, who will play their first match for the season Tuesday at Washington.
