The Highland Huskies are getting ready to embark on a new golf season. Highland returns a number of golfers off a girls’ team that finished third in Class 1A after reaching the state tournament.
That includes junior Adisyn Prottsman, who had the lowest-scoring averages on the team in nine-hole and 18-hole events, with a cumulative adjusted average of almost 11-over-par 47, and had the team’s best single rounds of the season, as well as a team-best 33-over score at the state tournament.
Emersyn Schultz also returns for the Huskies after shooting a cumulative adjusted average of nearly 51 as a sophomore, while senior Adeline Krotz had a nine-hole average score of just under 55. Head coach Travis Riggan tells KCII Sports that his team is primed for another special spring.
“The sky could be the limit for them” Riggan says. “I would say that every single one of them should have state in their minds. We talk about that. We know that that’s the end goal for us. We want to be there.”
On the boys’ side, Highland brings back Isaac Giesmann, who had a low nine-hole round of 51 in his freshman season. The Huskies play their first meet of the season Tuesday at New London.
