A pair of Mid-Prairie seniors finished their careers earning high marks on the court and in the classroom this winter. Golden Hawks Brylee Gearhart and Callie Huber were Class 3A Academic All-State selections by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.
Gearhart finished 10th in Class 3A with a 56% mark from the floor. Her 139 total rebounds were eighth in the River Valley Conference. She scored 195 points, had 23 blocks, seventh in the RVC, 21 assists, and 15 steals. She was Honorable Mention All-River Valley.
Huber was 10th in Class 3A with four offensive rebounds per game. She led the River Valley Conference at nine rebounds per game and pulled in 197 total boards, second most. Her 1.5 blocks per game were fourth in the River Valley, her 11 points per game were seventh in the RVC and 234 total points ninth most, with 32 total blocks, fifth most. Huber’s 50% shooting from the floor was sixth in conference. She also totaled 35 assists, 29 steals and had a 17 rebound performance in a single game at Durant, second most in Mid-Prairie history. Huber was a First-Team All-River Valley Conference, IGCA Class 3A All-District, IBCA Class 3A All-Region 4, and a Northwest Bank IBCA Class 3A Academic All-State choice.
The Golden Hawks finished the season with a 16-6 overall record.
