The Washington County Riverboat Foundation will be meeting this week to hear municipal grant fund presentations and to discuss ongoing litigation. The board of directors will hear presentations from each of the cities in Washington County and how each town plans to spend municipal grant funds in 2025.
Since 2006, the foundation has awarded over $16 million in municipal grant funds to the cities located in Washington County.
Following the presentations, a closed session will be held to discuss ongoing litigation with the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission. In February, Riverside Casino and Golf Resort and WCRF filed a petition for judicial review by the district court of the gaming license that was awarded on February 6th for a casino in Cedar Rapids. The challenge is related to language that was on a ballot measure in Linn County regarding gaming.
The monthly meeting will be held at the Washington YMCA community room on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
