
A trial date and an arraignment have been scheduled for two Wayland men connected to an incident that occurred on the Iowa City Pedestrian Mall in December.
According to court records, Landan Provino and Ryan Maschmann have each been charged with two class D felonies: willful injury causing bodily injury and participation in a riot. They were arrested in January. According to authorities, at 12:11 a.m. on December 14th, 2024 the incident happened, with records stating the act was committed “with the intent to cause serious injury and cause bodily injury” and they “willingly join[ed] a part of a riot by assembling with multiple persons in a violent manner.”
Maschmann’s case management conference was held on March 3rd and pretrial conferences are scheduled for March 28th with a jury trial date of April 1st in Johnson County. He has entered a plea of not guilty.
Provino has an arraignment scheduled for March 17th in Johnson County.
