winds-wed-3-5

It took a few days after the turn of the calendar to March, but it appears that the new month will in fact make it’s entrance like a lion over the next 24-36 hours in the KCII listening area. Scattered showers and even thunderstorms are expected in southeast Iowa throughout Tuesday. Isolated flooding can’t be ruled out with 1-2 inches of rainfall possible. Overnight into Wednesday, strong winds out of the northwest will develop and sustain at 30-40mph, with gusts up to 55mph possible. The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a wind advisory for the entire KCII listening area from 6a.m. To 6a.m. Wednesday, March 5th. Along with the wind hazard, light snowfall is expected with a trace to two inches possible. Winds combined with snowfall could lead to periods of low visibility, making travel difficult. Highs will reach into the 40s on Thursday with another winter system expected in the area Thursday night into early Friday. Stay tuned to KCII for weather updates.
