Photo by Sharon Scarff - Keep Iowa Beautiful

A Wayland woman recently received accolades for her photos from Keep Iowa Beautiful. Sharon Scarff won first place in the Robert D. Ray Best of Show category for her photo titled “Cliff Swallows Arguing.” She also took third place in the Iowa Landscape category and first place in Iowa Wildlife.

This was the 15th annual photography contest hosted by Keep Iowa Beautiful. The aim is to have Iowa’s natural and environmental beauty showcased by photographers from across the state. Over 900 photos were submitted and they were judged blindly, without the photographers’ names visible to the judges.
