Farmers from across southeast Iowa will soon meet at the Southeast Iowa Research Farm near Crawfordsville for an annual meeting. The Southeast Iowa Agricultural Research Association’s annual meeting is being held March 6th and farmers and those who give agronomic advice are invited to attend. The day will include three programs including information about the Ag Decision Maker website, tips for managing corn following corn, and setting up meaningful field trials for your operations. The sessions will be led by ISU professors and program specialists.
Field Agronomist Rebbeca Vittetoe says what to expect at the 274-acre research farm, “There’s going to be a lot of great information shared at this. A great opportunity too, to network and meet with some people from campus, as well as farmers from across southeast Iowa, because like I said the association is made up of 21 counties and so there will be a wide group of people there.”
Anyone can join the association by reaching out to the Johnson or Washington County Extension offices. Registration on March 6th begins at 9:30 a.m. and the day concludes at 3 p.m., lunch is provided with the registration fee. Register in advance by calling 319-337-2145 at the Johnson County Extension Office.
